Born in 1965 in Lalsot, Rajasthan, Vinay Sharma is an acclaimed painter, printmaker, and graphic artist whose creative journey is profoundly influenced by the rich cultural heritage and age-old traditions of his native region. He began his formal training in the arts at the Rajasthan College of Arts, Jaipur, and later expanded his academic experience as an exchange student at Liverpool University in the UK. He earned a degree in Graphics from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in 1990.
Vinay’s artistic style is a confluence of traditional influences and contemporary thought. His early environment—steeped in the colours, rituals, and spiritual practices of Rajasthan—continues to shape his visual expression. The astrological and ritualistic heritage of his father and grandfather plays a significant role in the symbolic depth and philosophical undertones of his works.
Over time, Vinay has presented his artworks in numerous solo and group exhibitions, gaining visibility both within India and on international platforms. He has showcased his solo work at various notable venues, including the Gallery of Modern Art in Udaipur (1986), Hope Street Art Gallery in Liverpool, and Hanover Galleries. He has participated in numerous prominent group exhibitions both within India and abroad, showcasing his work at esteemed venues such as the Lalit Kala Akademi in New Delhi, Integrate Gallery in Germany, and various exhibitions in Korea and Australia. His art has also been featured in several prestigious international platforms, including:
