Born in 1961, Garhwal, Uttarakhand, Suneet Ghildial spent his childhood and early years in Garhwal itself. He later moved to Jaipur in 1983 and started teaching and practising art.

“My passion as an artist is to translate the language of my inner self into an imagery that symbolizes the real essence of our existence. I enjoy the power of line, which creates movement and depth. Layering of rich earthy colors- vivid yellows and browns, diverse textures and strong and subtle linear impressions on surface through my own created tools characterizes my work. My work appears investigations of the invisible world that lies beneath and within our own visible world. "

He is a recipient of numerous awards including the most prestigious National Academy Award, lndia- 1992; 3rd Bharat Bhavan Biennial of Contemporary Indian Art Award-1990; AIFACS Awards- 1989, 95, 97; Salon Du Carrousel Du Louvre, Paris, SNBA Award-2010; AIFACS Award: 1989,1995,1996,1997; All India Award RLKA-1992,1994; State Award RLKA-1989,1991,1993; All India Poster Award for Environment-1995; Group 8 Award for Prints-1989; etc.

His works are in collection of Several private & public collections in India and abroad including National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi; JKK Jaipur; LKA, N. Delhi; RLKA, Jaipur; AIFACS, N.
