Born in Bikaner in 1959, Mahaveer earned his Diploma in painting and sculpture at Rajasthan school of art in Jaipur. He studied under the mentorship of Shri Vedpal Sharma.
Mahaveer is a highly accomplished artist with a remarkable artistic journey. He began his artistic training at home. During his formative years, he had the privilege of mastering the traditional style of painting under the guidance of his mentor, the late Shri Vedpal Sharma "Bannu."
Throughout his career, Mahaveer's artistry has been showcased in numerous galleries across India and internationally. He has exhibited his work in over 60 galleries in India, including cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Pune, and has extended his reach to international art scenes in Paris, Brussels, Jerusalem, Washington DC, Pittsburgh, Wave Hill, New York, Denver (USA), Japan, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore, Spain, and Australia.
In addition to his exhibitions, Mahaveer Swami has been actively involved in teaching and sharing his artistic expertise. He has conducted workshops and training programs at various locations in India and internationally. His teaching experiences span locations such as Paris, Cairo, Jerusalem, Dubai, Bhutan, Algeria, Taiwan, Belgium, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Pittsburgh, and Washington, DC (USA).
Mahaveer Swami's artistic talents have garnered him numerous awards, including the prestigious Master Craftsman Award (National Award); Kala-Shree national award and Rajiv Ratna awards among others.
His work is not only appreciated in the art world but is also part of the collections of over 17 museums and galleries in India and internationally, including Jerusalem, Berlin, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (USA), Camden, Maine (USA), New York, Paris, Belgium, and Algeria.
His artwork has found a place in several books, magazines, and online blogs, contributing to his recognition as a prominent artist in the global art community. Notably, his work is part of the permanent collections at institutions like the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, the Museum Of Sacred Art in Durbuy, Belgium, the Cultural International Festival of Miniature & Illumination in Tlemcen, Algeria, and the One Asia Project in Auroville, Pondicherry.
