CELEBRATING HIMMAT SHAH'S 'UNDER THE MASK' EXHIBITION: A REMARKABLE ARTISTIC JOURNEY PRESENTED BY JAIPUR CENTER OF CULTURE AND ARTS (JCCA) + ART MAGNUM Renowned artist Raghu Rai shall present the Journey of Himmat Shah through his lens. 13th July 2023, New Delhi: In continuation of Himmat Shah’s Celebrating 90 on the 1st of July, Jaipur Centre of Culture and Arts (JCCA) in collaboration with Art Magnum, is proud to present the highly anticipated exhibition 'Under the Mask' by the Living Master Himmat Shah, at Bikaner House, New Delhi. This extraordinary showcase of Himmat Shah’s 'Pandemic Drawings' will open its doors to the public on the 21st of July, followed by a special preview on the 22nd of July. The exhibition, curated by Jyotirmoy Bhattacharya, embarks on a transformative journey through the introspective and profound works of Himmat Shah. Notably, the celebrated photographer Raghu Rai offers his lens to capture the essence of Himmat’s artistic exploration, while Monica Sharda, Director of JCCA, and Saurabh Singhvi, Director of Art Magnum, express their enthusiasm for the exhibition. The 'Under the Mask' exhibition presents an extraordinary collection of Himmat Shah's 'Pandemic Drawings,' showcasing the artist's creative response during challenging times. These drawings, created amidst the pandemic, reveal Himmat’s introspection and exploration of hidden truths beneath the surface. The exhibition also features a selection of new sculptures that embody Himmat’s evolving artistic vision. A noteworthy highlight is two sculptures of Himmat Shah made of Diamond, a captivating creation being unveiled for the first time in India. Adding to the richness of the exhibition, acclaimed photographer Raghu Rai contributes to the showcase by using his lens to capture the essence and depth of Himmat Shah's artistic journey. Through Rai's photographs, viewers are invited to experience the profound expressions and resilience reflected in Himmat’s 'Pandemic Drawings.'
